‘ABC World News Tonight’ Beats ‘NBC Nightly News’ Again In Weekly Ratings

ABC’s World News Tonight has clocked a second consecutive week as the country’s most watched evening newscast, beating NBC Nightly News by 228,000 viewers last week (8.250 million viewers compared to 8.022M).

World News Tonight also led in the news demo and among adults 18-49.  In the news demo, WNT’s 2.032 million bested NN’s 1.842 million. Among 18-49 year olds, WNT’s 1.410 million outstriped NN’s 1.298 million.

Last time ABC’s newscast won a week in ratings by all three metrics was more than seven year ago. The David Muir-anchored newscast was up compared to same week last year in total viewers and in the younger demo by 15%,  and up 11% in the news demo.  WNT is enjoying its most watched season in eight years, averaging half a million viewers more per night than last year.
