Pineville guardsman remembered for ‘ultimate sacrifice’
Pineville native David Strother saved soldiers’ lives with medical evacuations when he served overseas with a Louisiana National Guard helicopter unit.
He has now given his life for his country, as he was among 11 servicemen killed Tuesday night in a helicopter crash in the Florida Panhandle during a military training exercise.
Strother, a chief warrant officer 4, is being remembered by the Central Louisiana community as someone who made the “ultimate sacrifice” for his country.
