Police shoot man with gun at Louisiana college

SHREVEPORT, La. (WTNH) — Police at a Louisiana college shot and killed a man who pointed a gun at an officer. It happened around 4:30 Thursday afternoon at Centenary College.

According to the school’s president, the man entered the college’s library and asked for help from library staff. The staff became worried over what they called his “odd” behavior and alerted campus police.

Police say, when they tried to escort him off campus a struggle ensued, and the man was shot. Police say the man did not fire any shots himself, but was armed.

Right now the man’s name is not being released. Police say there’s no indication he had a connection to the college.
