The designers of a controversial Colombian women’s cycling team kit may have topped themselves with the men’s version.

The female uniform, which has a flesh-colored section between stomach and thighs, was criticised after it was worn by riders at the Tour of Tuscany in Italy over the weekend.

Social media users questioned the design and also asked whether it was ‘sexist’.

It turned out the male version was no less striking after designers decided to put extra padding around the crotch area.

The image of the kit, which was almost totally flesh coloured, was tweeted out by @Ultimo_km1.

They were apparently trying to show there was nothing sinister in the design of the female costume.
