State Rep. Thompson — Ricin Letter ‘Nut Job’ Not Representative of #Louisiana Citizens

Lawmakers from the Bayou State weigh in on the ricin-laced letters sent to President Barak Obama and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg — reportedly because of their stance on gun control.

Bossier City Representative Jeff Thompson, a firm gun rights advocate, says here in the Sportsman’s Paradise, our second-amendment rights are so close to all of us. And with ownership comes responsibility.

“Whatever nut job out there has happened to travel through Shreveport and dropped a letter in the mail, it has nothing to do with those of us who are law-abiding citizens,” Thompson says. “I hope, along with you and everyone else, that whoever’s responsible for the illegal acts are caught and prosecuted. And it’s a shame that some of the media are seizing upon this opportunity to villainize lawful gun owners in Louisiana and across the nation.”
