Reports: Ricin letters sent to NYC mayor, gun control group, came from #Shreveport | #Louisiana

The ricin-laced letters sent to the office of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his Washington, D.C.-based gun control group may have originated in Shreveport.

On Wednesday, the American Postal Worker’s Union posted an article quoting what appears to be a memo given by the United States Postal Service to employees in the New York and Washington Districts on May 28 and 29 that says the letters were postmarked in Shreveport, LA on May 20.

The “Mandatory Stand-Up Talk” assures the employees that “We have no reason to believe that any employees are at risk from handling the suspect letter as it passed through the mailstream.”
