After 11 New Year’s Celebrations G.G.’s Club Closes Its Doors

ALEXANDRIA, La.- After New Year’s Eve G.G.’s Club will be closed for good. News Channel Five’s Nolan Crane talked to the owners to find [out] why they are closing.

G.G. Shinn and his wife are preparing for their 11th New Year’s Eve celebration as the owners of Alexandria’s G.G.’s Club. They expect more than 700 people to hit the dance floor, and fill these seats to ring in 2013.

“We have the largest new year’s eve party in Cenla. It’s always a blast. Tonight, we have TK Hulin and G.G., big band plus DJ Matrix. We will be open until 3 a.m.,” says Sandra Shinn.

Monday night’s New Year’s Eve celebration will be the last event on tap for the owners of this nightclub.

“Tonight is out last night here in central Louisiana in Rapides Parish. Hello Alexandria, good bye at the same time,” says G.G. Chin.

“We’ve been talking about retirement for several years. Then it would come to that point and we’d decide, well we’ll stay one more year and then one more year, turned into another year,” says Sandra Shinn.
