Alexandria, LA: Crowd Protest Arrest Of Drug Suspect

ALEXANDRIA, La. – RPSO captured two adults and a juvenile after a high-speed vehicle pursuit, then called for back up to disperse a crowd that threatened deputies after the arrests.

According to reports from the sheriff’s office, deputies were in the middle of a drug stakeout near Rapides and Bolton Saturday afternoon when Denardo Jarrell Boyd, 24 of Alexandria, attempted to back over a deputy in a store parking lot when approached by deputies.

As Boyd was being arrested, an angry crowd ensued and started to threatened the deputies. As a result, Alyssa Marie Jacobs, 22, of Alexandria, was charged with inciting a riot, interfering with a law enforcement investigation and assisting escape.
