PLAQUEMINE PARISH: Shooter claims self-defense in killing

PLAQUEMINE – Police arrested a man they said shot and killed a teen during a dispute at his home in Plaquemine, and said the shooter is claiming self-defense.

Chief Orain Gulotta said Wilbert Myles, 17, of Plaquemine was shot and killed during an altercation with Cordias Walker, 22, at Walker’s residence.

Officers responded to the shooting at 58853 Allen Street around 1 p.m. Gulotta said Myles was found with multiple gunshot wounds and flown to a Baton Rouge hospital, where he died from his injuries.
