Byon is being held in Gillespie County Jail on a $500,000. He was arrested on a warrant from Alexandria.

The threats to the schools in Alexandria coincide with the threats made to FHS yesterday.


According to the statement issued by police, law enforcement agencies investigated the phone call that was made to the FISD board member’s phone and recovered the believed phone number. Also, police received a tip that Byon “was bragging about making ‘bomb threats.”


According to the report, Fredericksburg police questioned Byon and during a second interview he confessed to making phone calls to the high school, school board member and to an assistant vice principal at the High School.

According to Alexandria Police, Reuben David Byon, 17, of [Fredericksburg], Texas, is charged with three counts of communicating false information of planned bombing on school property.

Just after 10 p.m., police issued a statement saying that Reuben David Byon of [Fredericksburg], Texas, had been arrested and had been charged with three counts of communicating false information of planned bombing on school property.

Extradition will begin “as soon as possible,” reads the release.

Four Rapides schools get bomb threats Tuesday

As police were dealing with the situation at ASH, other threats were called into Brame Middle and Bolton High schools. A threat also was received at Pineville High School.

Curiously, there was also a bomb threat at Fredericksburg High School

The school was evacuated and swept after the first threat was called in Tuesday morning. Then, district officials said, the second threat was called in 10 minutes after classes resumed. District officials decided to send everyone home for the day while they brought in K-9 teams to comb through the school.

Kids apparently don’t read the news.  Most people who call in bomb threats get caught, and rather quickly.
