PLANO (CBS 11 NEWS) – A Plano teenager is on a personal crusade to find to a U.S. solider being held captive in Afghanistan.
While surfing Facebook, Paul Oliger came across videos of an American soldier held by the Taliban, and the 17-year-old Plano senior high school student says he was compelled to act.
“He’s alone scared, he probably hasn’t heard English in a very long time,” said Oliger.
Prisoner of war Bowe Bergdahl has been held captive for four years. He was 22 when taken prisoner and believed to be still alive. Oliger, who plans a military career when he graduates, not only started wearing a reminder bracelet, but also passed out flyers at school hoping to bring awareness that he believes is needed.
“The more people that know about him, the more pressure on political figures to do something about it.”
