Amber Alert Issued For Two Girls From Galveston

HOUSTON (CBS Houston) On Friday evening, officials issued an Amber Alert for two girls who are sisters from Galveston.

The Galveston Police Department issued an Amber Alert for missing six-year-old Tiana Duarte and her sister, 10-year-old Makayla Duarte. The young girls are believed to be with their mother who is named Marisol Duarte.

Duarte was last seen in Galveston, picking up Tiana at Parker Elementary School at 69th and Jones Drive while her other child Makayla was picked up at Busy Body Day Care at 6904 Lasker Drive at 8 a.m. on Friday.

Tiana was last seeing wearing a red polo shirt and khaki capris, and Makayla was wearing a red striped shirt and black pants.

According to authorities, Duarte lost custody of the girls and has a history of drug use as well as mental health deficiencies The children are believed to be in danger.
