Don't be alarmed by the Metairie SWAT roll

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office wants to calm fears before its SWAT team begins an exercise this week.

The department announced it will conduct an active shooter training exercise on Wednesday, March 6, from about 5:00-8:00 pm.

The SWAT Team, negotiators, and other special response deputies will be participating in the drill at the Jewish Community Center on West Esplanade Avenue in Metairie.
