HURST (CBSDFW.COM) - The teenager who was the focus of a police officer’s outburst caught on video denied resisting arrest Monday, while filing an official complaint about the incident.
Andrew Rodriguez walked into the Hurst Police Department flanked by his mother and community activist Carlos Quintanilla. It’s the first time Rodriguez has appeared or spoken out since the incident November 20.
Following a short visit behind closed doors inside the police department, Rodriguez appeared to make a short statement thanking supporters.
“I’d like to thank everybody that’s helped me and my family through Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter, and everybody else here, thanks very much,” he said.
Rodriguez though also distributed a two-page statement about the incident, including his description of when Officer Disraeli Arnold arrived on scene.
