DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Good Samaritan came to the rescue of a disabled woman who was allegedly ripped off by a caretaker she hired through Craigslist.
Jeremy Smythe made Patrice Mason’s holidays a little brighter by replacing the TV that was stolen from her apartment in Downtown L.A.
“We saw your story on the news. We wanted to come by and help make part of your situation right,” Smythe said.
Smythe is the CEO of A Caring Heart Home Care, which services the disabled and elderly. He said people like Mason, on a tight budget, shouldn’t have to risk their safety for good care.
“Our motto is providing home care from the heart,” Smythe said.
Mason, who is confined to a wheelchair and legally blind, said she recently returned home after spending 14 months in the hospital. She realized that she was unable…
