AMITE, LA (WAFB) -
A man was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading to drug charges Tuesday.
District Attorney Scott Perrilloux said Stephen Short, 33, pleaded no contest to production and manufacture of Schedule II controlled dangerous substances.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office said he was arrested on Dec. 16, 2010 when deputies responded to a report of meth being produced at a home in Independence.
According to reports, deputies found a working meth lab in the kitchen after smelling what they noted as a strong odor consistent with cooking meth.
Investigators said they found used battery peelings in the laundry room and fertilizer in a baby formula box.
Stephen Roberson, 45, and Myranda Stafford, 37, were also arrested.
