BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
A man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot Monday night.
The Baton Rouge Police Department said an officer patrolling near North 27th Street in Baton Rouge heard gunshots in the area around 9 p.m. and went to the location where he heard it.
He found an unidentified man lying on North 27th and Gayosa Street suffering from gunshot wounds.
The man had been shot in the stomach area.
Detectives have not released a description of the suspect.
The shooting remains under investigation.
