Daredevil Completes Record-Breaking Walk Across Niagara Falls

(CNN) -- Cloaked in darkness and enveloped by mist, aerialist Nik Wallenda walked across Niagara Falls on a tightrope late Friday and into the record books.

It was a historic walk that observers say was in line with his appetite for the extreme and the high-wire customs of his "Flying Wallendas" family.

Pumping his fist in the air, Wallenda sprinted the last few steps on the wire.

Father Accused of Feeding Baby Vodka Charged with Murder

(CNN) -- A North Georgia man is charged with murder after authorities say he put vodka in his 4-month-old's baby bottle, leading to her death -- an incident that his public defender says was an accident.

The infant girl died June 8, 2011, after she drank the vodka. Just over a year later, a DeKalb County grand jury indicted her father, Keith Antonine Furlow, on felony murder and second-degree cruelty to children, according to the court document filed Thursday.

Quake-hit Afghan village could become mass grave

An Afghan village where more than 70 people are believed to have been buried in an earthquake-triggered landslide could be declared a mass grave, an official said Wednesday.

Two shallow tremors less than half an hour apart on Monday unleashed a deluge of rock and earth that smashed into the remote village of Mullah Jan, in the mountainous Hindu Kush region.

Woman accused of robbing same liquor store three times in 24 hours

Latasha Singletary was charged with robbing Anna’s Liquors three times in the course of 24 hours.

It is the same store that she was charged with robbing slightly more than a year ago, police allege.

Singletary, 30, of 36 Baker St., was arraigned Thursday on one count of armed robbery while masked and two counts of armed robbery.

Shreveport Police detectives need your help in locating a teenager who has apparently run away from home.
On June 10, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to a home in the 3300 block of Frederick Street relative to a runaway teenager. Upon arrival, officers contacted the child’s mother who advised them her 14-year-old son De’Alvin Darnell, left their home there on June 7 headed to a relative’s residence and has not been seen or heard from since.
De’Alvin is described as a black male, about five feet seven inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds.

Anyone who has any information regarding De’Alvin Darnell or his whereabouts is urged to call Shreveport Police detectives at 318-673-7020 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
